On Tuesday, October 19, the Kelso High girls soccer team made history with their first ever league championship win! The team is one of three at KHS to secure a league championship so far, and a fourth team may follow after Monday’s game.
The girls soccer team has two friendly (non-league) games left: one this Thursday and the other next Wednesday. The team is the #1 seed from the 3A Greater St. Helens League and will advance to District Tournament on October 30.
The slowpitch team capped off an undefeated regular season with the 3A Greater St. Helens League title last week. Currently #1 on the 2A/3A WIAA RPI rankings, they play Washougal at Fort Vancouver tonight at 5:00 PM for the District title and State qualifier. One win and they go to state, two wins secures the district title.
Kelso High’s boys cross country team are also league champs. Both boys and girls Cross Country teams will compete in the District meet tomorrow at Joe Stewart Track.
If the Kelso High girls volleyball team wins their game Monday, October 25, they’ll be the fourth Hilander team with a league championship this fall.
Amazing accomplishments, all! Congratulations, Hilanders!!
