Coweeman Middle School recognized #UnityDay on October 20th by having an Orange Out. Unity Day, started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, is observed by wearing and sharing orange to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
Coweeman students participated by wearing orange socks, orange shoes, dyed orange hair, orange t-shirts/sweatshirts, orange hair ties, orange hats... Staff joined in, as well. Some staff members made t-shirts with the phrase Kindness Team across the front and #YouCanSitWithUs on the back. The nutrition services team made aprons that said Lunch Ladies Against Bullies.
Even if you didn't wear orange on the 20th, you can still participate. October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Click here to learn more about it and see how you can show your support and promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
