PUBLIC INPUT

The purpose of Board Meetings is for the Kelso School District (KSD) Board of Directors (Board) to conduct its business in public; however, the Board recognizes the value of public comment on educational issues and the importance of involving members of the public in its meetings. In order to permit fair and orderly dialogue, the Board provides a period during each regular meeting when the public may provide input on agenda items or comment on non-agenda items.

Scheduled communications shall include visitors who have previously arranged with the Superintendent to appear before the Board. General comments, either oral or written, will come at the beginning of the regular meeting under the agenda item designated Public Comments. Members of the audience who are Kelso School District residents wishing to address the Board must provide their name, address, and affiliation, if any, prior to addressing the board. Speakers may not discuss school district personnel. Not more than three (3) minutes may be allotted to each speaker and no more than ten (10) minutes to the subject under discussion except with the unanimous consent of the Board. Public comments under this agenda item will be limited to thirty (30) minutes.

If you would like to address the Board on a particular issue, either by Zoom or in person, please complete the form linked below before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, the day of the board meeting. Unless otherwise noted, meetings of the Board are held in the Roy Parsons Board Room at the Kelso School District Office at 601 Crawford St. Kelso. Board meeting location, dates, and times may be subject to change. Board agendas are made available to the public within 24 hours of a board meeting on the Next Board Meeting Documents page in the left-hand menu of this page.  If you plan to address the Board in person, advance notice is appreciated but not required. Sign-in sheets will be available at the door.
