Mission Statement

Kelso Virtual Academy is a web-based educational program providing instructor-led online courses to middle and high school students. KVA offers innovative and challenging 8th-12th grade academic experiences to part-time and to full-time students with the opportunity of meeting face-to-face with a certificated, highly-qualified teacher at least once per week. KVA’s Mission is to offer a highly-flexible and personalized program for diverse family learning needs that aligns to our state’s academic standards and graduation requirements.

Statement of Beliefs

  • We believe in treating every individual with dignity and respect, and we honor the thinking and ideas of each student.
  • We believe in a positive and nurturing relationship between staff and student.
  • We believe all students can grow in intellect and responsibility, for life-long success.
  • We believe in high educational standards that will prepare students for post-secondary school and work in a technically-advanced environment.
  • We believe teachers, parents, guardians and adult mentors provide the support and encouragement students need. These adults play significant roles in helping bridge the academic skills of the classroom and the responsibilities of daily life.
  •  We believe students must share a common body of knowledge in order to act as responsible, respectful and self-sufficient citizens.
  • We believe our students’ becoming productive citizens is important to the success of our community.
